Abstract

GLOBAL is a project led by INERIS, that seek to understand and look at ways of improving the global safety of dangerous goods logistics. The project also identifies logistics choice as a risk issue especially when logistics is a means for plants to transfer risks. This 3-year project basis and based on strong interactions between stakeholders of the logistics chain during the study (mainly through frequent discussions during meetings following reports and proposals of the project team). These stakeholders include private companies (from principals, subcontractors from forwarding agents to consignees and transport operators), control authorities and regulatory agencies as well as cities and territories representatives. This paper describes the actions taken to achieve this objective after a period of 18 months.
