Development of a risk knowledge platform dedicated to accident of dangerous goods transportation

Résumé

The MITRA project (Monitoring and intervention for the transportation of dangerous goods, STREP funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Program, IST priority "Improving Risk Management", Information Society Technologies) has for goal to develop an innovative operational platform, based on regional responsibilities, for the monitoring of dangerous goods transportation in Europe. In alert and emergency situations, the Risk Knowledge Platform (RKP) dedicated will evaluate the situation, before and immediately after the accident, assess the risks and effects derived from the accident and adopt the adequate intervention measures. To reach this goal, specific algorithms have been developed to identify the possible phenomena in order to propose appropriate safety distances related to the specification of the hazardous goods transportation accident.
