Population exposure and radiofrequency coverage of GSM and UMTS mobile phone networks

Abstract : This study aimed to perform an analysis of people's exposure and mobile phone coverage on a defined area ; to look how it can be extrapolated to model exposure decrease when lowering the power of nearby base stations ; to check this exposure decrease by measurements. Six configurations were defined: rural in plain or in mountain, suburbs, modern dense city, old dense city, high density business district. 17 communes were selected for this experiment, representing those six environments.
