Modélisation de la formation des aérosols organiques secondaires issus des feux de végétation dans la région euro-méditerranéenne

Abstract : To improve the modeling of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation of vegetation fires in chemistry transport models, a new chemical mechanism is developed. It represents the oxidation of major VOCs (those with high SOA yields and high emission factors). The Polyphemus air quality model is evaluated in the Euro-Mediterranean region during the summer of 2007. A sensitivity study on the relative influence of VOCs and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) on SOA formation is performed.
