Analyse et interrogations liées à l'effondrement de la carrière souterraine de craie de Lorroy en 1910

Abstract : During the winter of 1910, the river Loing overflowed and flooded a chalk quarry located at Lorroy, Château-Landon township (France). The collapse that occurred caused a big landslide, destroying nearby both the waterway and the hamlet and killed 7 persons. The suddenness of the event led the authors to study the chalk mechanical behaviour under water content variations.
