Simulation de la rupture en mode I avec la méthode aux éléments discrets

Abstract : A discrete elements method has been used to simulate the initiation and propagation of cracks in brittle materials. Classical rock mechanics tests carried out on the Lac du Bonnet granite were simulated to calibrate the input parameters and to simulate other stress paths. A sensitivity analysis was performed to investigate the influence of the numerical parameters on the toughness of the material.
