Mesure des métaux rejetés par l’industrie nucléaire dans l’environnement marin

Abstract : The results of a 1-year long survey of trace metal concentrations (Al, Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Hg, Ni, Pb, Zn) have been measured in beach sand, limpets and, occasionally, in fish and shellfish in the North Cotentin area (France), where nuclear sites are implanted, are presented. The objective of this study was to provide useful data for the validation of models predicting the potential impact on the marine environment of chemical substances contained in the radioactive effluents. Even if differences were noted between investigated sites for various metals, their amounts are in agreement with existing data published for similar site and do not appear to give evidence of contamination by nuclear sites.
