La réglementation, la recherche en sécurité et le développement des nouvelles technologies : supercapacités pour l’automobile et piles lithium-ion pour le grand public et l’industrie

Abstract : This article explains how dedicated research is both helpful and desirable as early as the design stage to accompany the sustainable development of new technologies and consolidate a relevant regulatory context. This is illustrated through the brief description of 2 collaborative experimental works performed by INERIS and which concerned industrial parties in the field of energy storage: Li-ion batteries and supercapacitors for transport applications. In both cases and even in the absence of long term experience feedback (supercapacitors), deviation from normal operation of such new technologies have to be identified and analysed in terms of consequences through customised testing procedures.
